WHITE

As I was feeding Coleson one morning, I was looking out the window at the fleshly fallen snow with the sun shining bright.  I was pondering my goals for the new year, and the beauty of the color white and all of its symbolism flooded my mind.  These are some of the thoughts that came to me.

White is BRIGHT. I love the brightness and beauty of new fallen snow. How the sun reflects off of it making the world bright.  A reminder to always be happy and bright.

White is CRISP, FRESH, and CLEAN. I love decorating with white and how it adds a clean and fresh look to your home. I recently helped my mom revamp her kitchen shelves and we used white dishes to give them a new fresh look. And they did just that. I can’t wait to get some for my new kitchen! White is also a PEACEFUL and CALMING color.  A reminder to keep my home feeling fresh and clean and make it a peaceful and calming place for my family...hopefully most of the time:)

White is a Heavenly color; the color of the Saviors robe, the color of the temple.  A reminder to strengthen my relationship with my Savior through daily prayer and scripture reading and attending the temple often.

White can be thought of as plain and simple just like vanilla ice cream. (Not to mention I love vanilla ice cream with milk)  A reminder to SIMPLIFY.

White is classic, is ABSOLUTE.  A reminder to be that sort of friend.

White is a fresh piece of paper ready for new thoughts, ideas and creations. It symbolizes a fresh start to each new day. To begin again. To create something better.

“White…is not a mere absence of colour; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black…God paints in many colours; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white.” — G. K. Chesterton

“…Behold, by and by ye shall pluck the fruit thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and pure above all that is pure; and ye shall feast upon this fruit even until ye are filled, that ye hunger not, neither shall ye thirst.”
-Alma 32:42
